Our Team

Our organization is run entirely by volunteers. Each team member is a previous Newfoundland & Labrador Rose and has travelled to Ireland to represent our beautiful province. This linking experience allows us to support our upcoming NL Roses here at home and abroad.

Anna Murphy : Executive Director, communications, & events co-coordinator.

anna is the executive DIRECTOR and the 2016 Newfoundland & labrador rose. Anna is the owner of the shop & clothing brand, yellow rose. As well, the owner of creative spark, an event based content creator brand. She is the co-chair of wine, women well-being. As well, the host of the confidence and wellbeing podcast, yellow rose coloured glasses. She is also passionate about body confidence and sharing her journey with sexual assault through public speaking opportunities. she enjoys volunteering in her community with arts programming, llsc, and Canadian blood services.

katie hanlon-wadman : Chair & Events co-coordinator, & secretary

KATIE IS THE CENTRE'S CHAIR, SECRETARY AND 2017 NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR ROSE. KATIE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDUCTING OUR MEETINGS AND MAINTAINING OUR CENTRE'S IMPORTANT RECORDS, TASKS AND DEADLINES. KATIE IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER COMMITTED TO EMERGENCY RESPONSE, CONTAMINATION ASSESSMENT AND REMEDIATION FOR SITES ACROSS THE PROVINCE OF NL. KATIE IS THE PROVINCES REPRESENTATIVE FOR HER EMPLOYER'S SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROGRAM, WHICH CREATES POSITIVE SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITIES WHERE WE LIVE AND WORK. ALONGSIDE SUSTAINABILITY, KATIE IS ALSO DEVOTED TO WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AND LIFELONG LEARNING. VOLUNTEERING WITH ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS OCEANWISE, AND PARTICIPATING IN PROFESSIONAL MENTORSHIP THROUGH PEGNL, KATIE FOSTERS HER INTERESTS AND GIVES BACK TO HER PROVINCE.

Bridgette Kenny : NL rose liaison & fundraising

BRIDGETTE IS THE FUNDRAISING AND SELECTED ROSE LIAISON, & WAS THE 2018 NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR ROSE. BRIDGETTE IS A SPECIAL EDUCATION AND PRIMARY/ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER. SHE IS CURRENTLY DEDICATING TIME TO LEARNING SIGN LANGUAGE TO SUPPORT HER STUDENT LEARNERS. SHE IS ALSO LARGELY INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS. BRIDGETTE JUST BECAME A NEW MOM TO A PRECIOUS LITTLE LASS NAMED CELESTE, AND IS ENJOYING EVERY MOMENT OF MOTHERHOOD.

erica halfyard : Vice Chair & rose Entrant Liasion

ERICA IS OUR VICE CHAIR & ROSE DIRECTOR. SHE WAS THE 2013 NL ROSE OF TRALEE AND HAS STAYED INVOLVED WITH THE ORGANIZATION EVER SINCE !ERICA IS THE CONTACT FOR WOMEN INTERESTED IN BECOMING A ROSE AND CURRENT ROSES. ERICA HAS BEEN A DEDICATED COMMITTEE MEMBER SINCE 2015. AFTER HIGHLY ENJOYING HER EXPERIENCE AS THE ROSE, ERICA KNEW SHE WANTED TO HELP MAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY POSSIBLE FOR OTHER STRONG NL WOMEN! ERICA IS A MOM TO HER DAUGHTER BRIDGET , DOG MARCIE AND CAT PADDY! SHE HAS BEEN A NURSE FOR 8 YEARS AND CURRENTLY WORKS AS A OPERATING ROOM NURSE IN THE CITY.
